  Channel Switching

 British Jr.+ Head (& Combo)

Picture
Picture
Picture
This new model replaces the Perplex'd Jr. 15 AND the '69/70 Jr. series.   Still Class A single ended EL34 package of 15 watts. The wider range of the Gain switch really gets you from old-school M style to hot-rodded.  The controls run 'in line' right across the full length because of a new custom chassis.
The  Clean channel, VTBM, is designed after another British style amp that is cathode biased, and in this latest version is more organic, sounding rich when cranked into slight distortion range (newest version with Master crunching out at any volume without loosing the original headroom!) since the design is to keep as much clean headroom as possible.

Model is true point to point wired.

The Master is designed to be ‘extremely’ smooth, coming on slow and linear all the way.
Don’t let the 15 watts fool you – this amp through a 4×12 kicks! Cleans are exceptional with your guitar volume rollback on the Lead channel too !

Available as combo version and essentially the same as the head. It comes with a Celestion Greenback.
*NEW* - Clean channel sports a Master Volume so can run clean or crunched out now.
*See Combo Page for more details*

PERPLEX'D S3

* Perplex'd S2 is retired being incorporated into this model *
Picture
The Perplex’d S3 has 3 INDEPENDENT channels.  Like the S2, there is separate voltages on these channels to suit their designated purposes.
The S3 Lead channel is now voiced the same as the S2 was, while still keeping the Lead and Crunch channels balanced.  Each Distortion channel has a 3 way Bright switch on the Gain controls to further help in balancing them or adding 'bite' to each separately.
The GLOBAL section has a Master / Presence / Depth control, with a 3 way switch for Presence cap - letting you decide if you want no Presence, classic British value or a value that works more like a Raw control - pushing the overall frequencies 'more alive' jumping out of the speaker cabinet.
The Clean channel has a lot of headroom with Volume / Treble / Bass controls, balancing nicely with the Distortion
channels, keeping the same flavour.  *Note - headroom for this channel will decrease the lower the Global Master is set.

XS III

Picture
The XSIII is an 85 watt beast. What makes it unique, besides the exclusive Mercury Magnetics output transformer, is the TWO Gain controls on the Hi-Gain Channel. One is set up for Bright Crunch and the other for Fat Drive, allowing you to tailor the tightness and fullness, giving it wide flexibility. This amp can be smooth or aggressive!  The Clean/Grind channel can do just what it says - making a full bore cranked stack character or a sweet clean - your choice.
Described this way - ''it's got some sponge ... not stiff or strident ... but at the same time super  tight on the bottom end ... super open .. but compresses perfectly at the same time  ... it is aggressive but also warm and sweet in the overdrive''.

SIRROM

Picture
The SIRROM is the tightest most aggressive amp we make. Metal playing is not a problem, or dropped tuning,  but can still feel more organic than most amps of this style. The uniqueness of this amp is the way the distortion character (amount of) stays the same no matter what level you play at. It does not 'clear' up as you get louder, nor does it get 'more' as you lower the gain. But it still cleans up with your guitar volume control fairly well.  The Master is a separate entity of its own.
Adding versatility is a Drive control that works in conjunction with the Gain control on the Distortion channel !  This helps flavour the character of the distortion.
To top all that off a Filter Switch affecting the lower mids for palm muting and chugging has been installed.
The Clean/Crunch channel sports a Dual Gain switch plus a 3 way bright switch, along with full Gain / Master / Treble / Mids / Bass.
The Presence has a 3 way switch to choose from NO Presence to stock British to more like a negative feedback control.

GRINDER

Picture
This final version of the GRINDER has 2 independent Channels with 3 way Bright Switches.
Both the Clean and Grind channels are inspired by the famous Blackface era, with the distortion channel sporting 4 gain stages and the Clean channel having 3 stages.  Don't be fooled though - it still cleans up just as well as all Morris gain designs with your guitar volume.
The cleans are just as pretty as any 60's North American amp, with the option with an extra gain stage to run it as a 'crunch' channel.
