Morr-Tone

This is a dual 12AX7 tube pedal that runs off regular preamp high voltage and is completely hand-wired point-to-point. It is a total front end of an amplifier, tailored with special tone controls and output section to run as a distortion pedal in front of an amp. The design is with my extremely versatile Crunch and Drive Volume controls, tailored for one to be bright and biting and one to be darker and warmer. With this design, there is no need for a Presence control.

The tone controls are SWEET and MIDS. The SWEET control almost acts with the feel of a parametric control. It is meant to find the "Sweet" spot. As you turn it higher it 'sweeps' across the frequency range and you get more highs as it diminishes some of the lows. When you turn it towards the low side it cuts highs automatically while boosting the bass. The MIDS are a normal mid control. Fine tuning of these two controls and the two 'volumes' can actually 'clone' the sound you have coming out of your amp. Proving how transparent it can be - and - letting you take the sound you already have if so desired and boost the front end of your amp for more of that sound with sustain - using it as a semi-clean booster by adjusting the MASTER at the output stage.

There is a lot more out of this pedal though - cranking controls up puts you into total saturation of any tonality. Or backing off again to anything in between.

Controls

• Crunch - volume, gives a biting overdrive.
• Volume (Drive) - gives a fatter drive and boost.
• Sweet - a type of sweepable treble/bass control.
• Mids - a typical middle frequency control.
• Master - overall output level control.

The switching is 'true bypass'.
